Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2: Matter-Enabled Dual Sensor for Advanced Automation

The Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2 is an essential 2-in-1 device that enhances home security and automation by combining high-precision infrared motion sensing with integrated ambient light monitoring. With native Matter compatibility over Thread, the P2 provides local, reliable control for seamless integration into any modern smart home.

Dual Sensor Functionality & Enhanced Range

• 2-in-1 Sensor: Features a dedicated infrared motion sensor to monitor the presence of people in an area and a separate, independent light sensor to monitor lighting values. This allows for highly flexible automations for curtains, lighting, and circadian control. (NOTE: Alexa does not currently support light sensor functionality.)

• Wide Viewing Angle & Range: The sensor provides coverage up to 7 meters (23 feet) away, with a wide detection angle of up to 170° horizontally and 45° vertically.

• Adjustable Positioning: Comes with a versatile 360° stand, allowing you to easily adjust the viewing angle to cover the required zone.

• Customizable Sensitivity: The device comes with medium sensitivity by default, but you can set various sensitivity levels later via the Aqara Home app based on seasonal changes or specific needs.

Matter, Automation, and Efficiency

• Matter-over-Thread Compatibility: The P2 is compatible with Matter, requiring a Matter Controller & Thread Border Router for seamless integration. This makes it highly compatible with platforms like Apple Home, Google, and Amazon.

• Local Automations & Energy Saving: Automations are executed without relying on the cloud, which enhances user privacy and ensures that routines (such as setting circadian lighting or adjusting ambient control) continue to work even if there is no internet connection.

• Alert System: Supports voice alerts and status notifications through compatible voice assistants.

• Easy Installation: Thanks to its compact wireless design and adjustable stand, the Sensor P2 can be easily installed on a wall, ceiling, or within a particular zone with minimal effort.

• Longest Battery Life in Class: Powered by a powerful 2*CR2450 Lithium battery, providing up to 2 years of power for round-the-clock security, one of the longest battery lives among Matter-over-Thread sensors. (NOTE: Battery life depends on the particular Matter ecosystem and the number of Matter ecosystems the device is connected to.)
